Dogs certainly know when they are clean and looking good. A well-groomed dog (or cat) is happier, better behaved, healthier, and more outgoing. They feel good when they look good. BellyRubz offers a complete line of fine grooming services to bring out the best of appearance and personality in any breed. We work carefully, we never rush, and we do not overbook. We will take our time and do it right. Plus, on the day you groom, your dog plays for free. Feel free to arrive early, play for a while, then hop in the tub. When you’re done you stay in the grooming room, walking around with the groomers, and not in a kennel. You won’t be in a cage at BellyRubz. Our grooming categories may be described as follows:
Bath and Brush
Fundamental service which maintains the appearance and hygiene of your pet. Each Bath at BellyRubz includes bath and brush with premium shampoos and fine conditioners, blow dry by hand, a full brushing out; every bath further includes nail trimming, ear cleaning, and expression of glands. Your dog will look fuller, healthier, more colorful. It will look younger and smell terrific!
Bath and Tidy
This service includes all Bath and Brush items above plus our groomers will do a sanitary trim around the potty and private areas; we’ll trim any loose ends, plus paws, ears and perhaps other places as required. This is less expensive than a full haircut and appropriate for dogs who want to maintain the current length of their coat, but simply need a clean-up and a sanitary trim. It is typically used to remove uneven hair here or there that has grown fast or become out of control.
This is a full haircut from nose to tail usually using scissors and clippers. Haircuts, of course, start with a full bath and brush and include all the elements as described above. You decide exactly how you want your dog to look, how long or short, full bodied or slim, whatever. Our groomers are very happy to chat with you and discuss options. BellyRubz groomers will work hard to give your pet the individual look you want, to bring out the essence of its personality. Straight hair or curly; long or short; all parts of the dog are addressed.
The single most important element in determining the quality of dog grooming is the experience and artistry of the groomer. BellyRubz employs five of the most experienced and talented groomers in Arizona. Each has groomed professionally for 15 to almost 30 years. That’s a lot of grooming experience. You do not get a rookie, you do not get a hurried bath-girl. Our groomers do all the work themselves. We groom all breeds of dogs, AND CATS TOO! We will chose the groomer who is the best fit for your pet.
Linda has been a professional groomer for almost 30 years. Linda has owed dogs and animals her entire life and she has a sincere and heartfelt affection for dogs, which is communicated in an uncanny way. Her warmth is felt by the animal almost instantly and allows Linda to bring out the very best features of a dog's personality and breed. Linda's expertise is ably demonstrated across a wide range of dogs, from Goldens to Yorkies, from Bichons to Bernese. She’s been at BellyRubz for over 9 years. She enjoys a wide and enthusiastic clientele.
Jennifer lives just down the street and brings warmth and cheerfulness to our shop which is quickly recognized by pets and their families. The dogs are instantly at ease with Jen. While Jen is a busy mom, she is never in a rush, never overlooking a hair. Jen is as close to a perfectionist as you will find in the Valley, never allowing a dog to leave her table until she is completely satisfied that it is looking its best. She can groom any breed, any size, any temperament. She will hug your dog and tell it all about her children’s activities. In the end, Jen will have your pet looking great. Jen is a great mom who has owned many dogs (and now horses) over the years.
Every grooming room and dog shop should have a free spirit like Amy. Gourmet chef, amateur geologist (rock-hound?), camper, jokester, storyteller, and dogaholic. Amy grew up surrounded by pets as her father was a veterinarian. Amy took this affection and it shows every day, on every pet in her tub or on her table. She genuinely LOVES each dog she grooms. She is happy to take the larger, more playful breeds that we see. She likes nothing better than meeting a pet’s parents, explaining their pet’s quirks and habits and nuances. Don’t be surprised if your dog goes home with a bandana or kerchief from Amy’s drawer. Amy owns a frisky (rescued) terrier named Orton. Amy loves to groom cats too.
Neyla has built a terrific and loyal following. She will cheerfully groom any dog with patience and with a keen eye towards creativity and precision. Equally comfortable with large or small dogs, long hair or short, Neyla's expertise at scissoring and shaping make her the perfect fit for Poodles or other breeds where extra care is appreciated. Neyla loves to groom CATS as well, and nobody is better at Mixes and Mutts!!
Judie is a small dog specialist. For over 25 years Judie has established and maintained a practice centered on all the terriers, Bichons, Lhasos, Schnauzers, Maltese, Cockers, and other small to medium-sized dogs. Judie is as gentle and affectionate as any groomer in town. Judie is extra patient and extra careful, therefore, older and special dogs are a great fit for her as well as first-time puppies. Judie takes her time, Judie does it right.
With so many variables, there is no set pricing for fine grooming. Our groomers have the discretion to set individual prices for each dog, largely based on the time required. Factors which determine the price of a service include: size of pet; difficulty of the cut; degree of matting; amount of scissor work, clipping, brushing; disposition of the animal; length of hair; drying time, etc. However, you will find our prices quite reasonable. We will be happy to quote you a price range over the phone, and we invite your inquiries.
And remember: There is free day care for your dog on its grooming day. Stay as little of as long as you like, but your dog plays for free. We invite you to come early, play a while, we we’ll slot your pick-up at the end of the schedule for extra exercise.
